Today, let's read Chapter 9.

Don't you think that Verse 1 is very beautiful?
Jesus returned to his hometown...
Jesus did not have many places where he could relax.
As we learn from the gospels, He went back to Capernaum.

Then, it is written that some people brought a paralyzed man
He was confined to bed.
It requires much effort and much love to carry a bedridden person.
It is written in Mark, how four people brought along a paralyzed man, and took off the roof, isnft it.
When we fall ill , especially when we are seriously ill,
We beg God in desperation to do something, to heal us somehow

Probably the paralyzed man had what we would call today some kind of brain disease.
The Lord told him, "Son, be of good cheer."
Be of good cheer.

If we are seriously ill, or if we have no vision, we stare blankly and lose the will to live.  This is even more stressful for the people who have to look at us in this condition.
Christians who have vision (vision meaning the Word of God), by focusing on Jesus, have the strength to keep going at all times.  How fortunate we are!

And Jesus told the paralyzed man, "Thy sins are forgiven" and released his mind.
The mind of this man, whose illness had puzzled many people, was released.
This is something to be glad about, isn't it?

The Lord Jesus touches our minds and bodies.

And in Verse 6,
He said, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."

Now, when I visit my husband in hospital, and see the other patients,
I learn what Jesus says to those who are sick.
To a bedridden person He says, "Arise."
And the person to whom he speaks stands up on his own.

A healthy person probably thinks that standing up is something we do naturally,

and does not understand that if cerebral transfer systems such as muscles, balance, and fingertip strength are not in order, it is impossible to stand up.

This is a field which lies outside medical science.
-Man lives by the word of God. -
I feel this most keenly.

The man who was sick of the palsy, who knew only the world he saw from the floor, got up and folded away his mattress!!

These words move me deeply.
The man folded his mattress with his own hands!
When someone experiences total release, total healing, he gets up and stands on his own feet.
He throws out everything from his past.
And he goes home, and spreads the teachings of Jesus.

I, Bibli Cal, learn about the Christian life from the story of the healing of the paralyzed man.
The resurrected Lord gives new life to everyone.
People shall live and be inspired by the Word of God.

The Word of the Lord Jesus is life itself.
With His word, any person can arise, get up and walk.
The dead will be resurrected.

These words, gArise, take up your bed, and go to your house.h are unbelievable.

Yet by these words of Jesus, the man with the palsy was given new life.
It is the same in our lives.
Fortunate are those who hear the Word of God at a turning point in their lives.
Let us hold firm and go on.
Those who believe see the glory of God.
