NO.25 Resurrection of the Myrtle Tree

As in the words of the promise, the myrtle tree is flourishing

at Prayer House of the Water Brooks.

The myrtle tree at the prayer house was brought to us from the yard

of a sister of the church on the day of dedication (Jan. 23rd, 2002).

Perhaps because of the rigors of the winter,

the myrtle seemed almost dead at one time.

Members of the church worried.

”Oh, no, look at the myrtle!" "It’s withering away!” they cried.

The pastor dug up the soil, spread fertilizer on the ground,

put down new soil and replanted the myrtle in the same place.

And sure enough, at Easter, the myrtle came back to life!!

On Sunday morning we thanked
the risen Lord from the bottom of our hearts

because there was also a wedding on the Easter Day this year.

The myrtle and olive trees which were planted

at Prayer House of the Water Brooks

will be used at this year’s Feast of the Tabernacles!

Hallelujah!

――The promise of the Book of Isaiah――

Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,

And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;

And it shall be to the Lord for a name,

For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

                                    (Isaiah 55:13)
