Footprints of Ujisato Gamo

5) Birth of a Christian Feudal Lord

In 1585, one year after transferring the territory (Ujisato at
the age of 30), Ujisato could finally conquer the enemies
around Matsuzaka, Mie prefecture, which was given to him.
However Ujisato, with little time to breathe, joined Hideyoshi
force to destroy Saiga group of Negoro, Kishu.
There was Ukon Takayama among those who joined the battle
with Ujisato at that time.

In the Bible, there is a scripture;
"Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
                           (Romans 10:13)
Ujisato had finally confessed that Jesus Christ is the only
One who saves him. In "Nihon Nikki"(Japan Diary)
Luis Frois, a missionary wrote, Ujisato got baptized on
August 25 of that year.
The Christian name that was given to Ujisato was Leo.

Even after Ujisato became a Christian, he was still busy as ever.
However I think that Ujisato could keep peace and joy by believing in Christ, no matter
how much he was busy, because the Bible says if you believe Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the
Helper comes and lives in you. That was the birth of a new Christian Feudal Lord.
