Genya Ogasawara and Miya Kagayama 2

Miya Kagayama, wife of Genya Ogasawara, was the eldest daughter of Hayato Kagayama. Her father Hayato, one of Tadaoki Hosokawa's most important retainers, was a Christian who refused to obey Tadaokifs order to abandon Christianity and died a martyrfs death in Buzen, Ogura in 1619.

When Miyafs father was executed, she was in her early twenties and married to Genya with whom she had a child.  Miyafs mother Mary and her sister Lucia, who had been in Hayatofs house at the time of his execution, expressed their desire to follow him to martyrdom.  Miya also prayed to the Lord that she could believe in Jesus Christ and keep her faith to the end.
