Footprints of the Martyrs of the Hosokawa Domain@No.7B

@Hayato Kagayama 6

After the voyage, Diego and a Christian brother who had accompanied him prayed and exchanged verses until they came to the top of the hill, the execution ground.  Here he knelt down and prayed again calling on the name of Jesus Christ.  He then explained to the executioner how to chop off a head properly.  The execution was soon over.  The date was October 15, 1619, when Diego Kagayama Hayato was 54 years old.

" Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain."   John 12:24

Diegofs faith unto death was passed on to his family and many others in the Hosokawa domain.
