The messenger asked Balthazar, "Where do you want to be killed?h
Balthazar replied that it was up to Tadaoki to decide. However, his
daughter, Tekura, said, gFather, since it is not because you have committed
theft or any other crime that you are being punished, there is no need
for you to step outside. Let them kill you here in the house.
That would make us, your family, happy too.h
Balthazar rebuked his daughter for speaking up in
this way.
"Although Jesus was guilty of no crime, he was crucified between two
thieves on the public execution ground outside the city. I want to
take the same road as our Lord as far as I can.h
"If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take
up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will
lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew
16:24-25
