Yukinaga who became a Christian received the territory and territorial
waters in Shodo Island and Setonaikai (Inland Sea of Japan) from Hideyoshi.
Being a Christian,
he wanted people in the island to know the true purpose of living and the true
relation between God and men, and he prayed for it.
Then, God gave him an idea in his prayer. It was to request to the church
in Kyoto to send a missionary in Shodo Island to tell people Good News.
In such a reason, Gregorio de Cepedes and Joan, a Japanese, who were in
the theological college in Osaka, were sent to Shodo Island. Yukinaga was
glad and announced the meeting to people in the island, and more than100
people gathered in the first meeting.
It was like the moment that people gathered to hear
the Jesusf preaching in the Book of Gospel. And more than half of the people who
gathered there believed Jesus. People, who touched the truth instead of what
they had believed until then were saved.
