In the Sekigahara
war, Yukinaga made his best. However, the west side of Army was beaten at last
by Tokugawa Ieyasu side because of betrayal on the inside.
Yukinaga lost the war and escaped at first. But he told to village
people at Mt.Ibuki, Shiga Pref. who he was and that they would receive
the prize if they took him to the east side of Army. Then he was
caught by the east side of Army.
There were two reasons why Yukinaga acted like that. First, he kept
the teaching of God that one must not kill oneself. Secondly, he
thought the eternal life, which is given by God, is much more important
than the life in this world.
On October 1st, 1600, Yukinaga was executed at the Rokujyo Kawara, Kyoto.
At that time, the Buddhist priests tried to pray for him but Yukinaga refused
it with a loud voice. He was very calm at the execution.
